Where value lies
Gen AI's impact on workers are unequal. The good get better, and the bad gets worse.
The value of just "getting things done" is eroded since that's exactly what AI is good for. If your value lies in the doing things (doing research, making slides), you are directly competing with AI, and is fighting a losing battle.
The way out is to move up the value chain. This is where the "good" operate.
Instead of just "getting things done", the "good" think about what to do , and why we should do it. By doing so, they own the process around providing value, and utilise AI (and people) to get things done.
